"These thoughts certainly motivated me and may have been one of the biggest influences that pushed the story past being something shared among family to becoming a published book shared with the world," he added. "I often imagined her holding it in her hands and reading it with a smile and also talking about it with her coworkers and patrons of the library. I thought of this frequently while writing the book," he shared. "My mom was a big reader and was always so proud of the Fairview Library. Grimenstein grew up in Fairview surrounded by books, thanks to his mother the late Kathy Grimenstein who was the Branch Manager at the Fairview Library for 15 years. Our community needed help so friends, family and even strangers showed up so no one was alone," he said. "In the wake of the flood people blurred the lines between tragedy and triumph. According to Grimenstein, the kindness of others was weaved into each detail. The destruction however is only part of the story.
